Position: Contracts and Local Procurement Coordinator
Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company seeks a Contracts and Local Procurement Coordinator to join the Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will uphold Barrick's values and responsibilities, ensuring transparency, integrity, sustainability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer on-site contracts and oversee local procurement activities.
- Drive local procurement initiatives by collaborating with various departments on procurement plans.
- Implement LMC's tendering and contracting procedures according to current policy.
- Manage contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company requirements.
- Provide accurate commercial advice on tendering and contractual matters.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures related to contracting.
- Contribute to the ongoing review of contract terms to ensure they meet company standards.
- Maintain high-quality customer service and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent.
- Significant experience (7 years) in Contracts Management, preferably in mining.
- In-depth knowledge of International Contracts and contract law (Zambian and English).
- Membership of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Strong negotiation skills and exposure to ERP systems.
