Job Description:

Lumwana Mining Company is offering an internship development program to highly committed individuals seeking industrial experience in the Mineral Resource Department – FS Section. This opportunity is available for recent graduates from both public and private universities/colleges and individuals looking to gain industrial experience.


Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise ground clearing and pad preparation for drilling.

- Collect geological data from RC chip logging and sampling (assay, gamma logger, and met).

- Assist in preparing geological sections, including lithologies, rock codes, weathering, minerals present, assays, and sample characteristics.

- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the database and validate data using Acquire and/or Vulcan.

- Participate in lab assay QA/QC, report errors and trends, and take corrective action.

- Understand deposit geology and its relationship to mineralization styles by mapping.

- Monitor QA/QC sample material stocks.

- Contribute to site safety policies and initiatives, and implement changes as directed.

- Promote, monitor, and enforce compliance with safe work practices.

- Report and investigate incidents according to company policy and statutory requirements, ensuring corrective actions are completed.


Qualifications:

- Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field.

- Basic understanding of geological and mining principles.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

- Willingness to work in field conditions and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); basic knowledge of geological software is a plus.
